The only problem with the automated election, in my ice, is the limited number of PCOS machines (now that I’ve mentioned it, what does the acronym stand for, anyway). Nonetheless, it was fulfilling to see that people were willing to wait in queues just to be able to vote; it could also be that some merely wanted to try out how the new election works.

Inside my precinct, I saw Majell and Camille Stacy’s mother on duty. And before I voted, a crew (or whatever they’re called) “sita” me for doing something which I will not tell unless you beg for it. I spent 30 minutes in the room because I didn’t have a list to vote with me in the first place. The following day we visited Aiza on her birthday.

The last picture was on the day after Aiza’s birthday; at Ebro City during Mia’s father’s thanksgiving. Thank you for all your prayers! And…following are solo shots I stole which they evidently didn’t approve of to be posted. Partida nalang.

This is a re-post, after the server crash last December.

Last December 1 I found myself chatting with Lagat, who’s now sailing the seas from Japan to US and vice versa. At that time he was in Japan, living life at Aton Palace Hotel in Kashima City with his laptop — an HP Pavilion DV4 1120US Entertainment Notebook PC which cost him $699.

During our Y!M session he bombarded me with these words: fumigation, charterer, retard (nosebleed gamay)
I forgot the number of days the vessel spends in the sea traveling but he said that they stay in Japan (US) for 5 days before going back to the US (Japan), transporting logs.
They dock in Longview, Washington in US.
An allowance of $56 and $500 (I cannot recall which is which)
His cellphone, a Nokia 5000, is rendered unusable.
Drank beer named “Draft One” with his mates prior to chatting with me
Will be spending Christmas at sea.

Singapore and High Blood

Last Monday night a classmate of mine surprisingly called and told me that it’s the so-called “Free Call”. It was true. I called a very few which included Jesha. We had small and quick conversations (as the line would suddenly cut) and indeed, John Paul is going to Singapore for another on-the-job training (OJT). In fact, he already left last Friday. I already heard this from Joey when we met but I was not convinced. I don’t know ha, but what’s up with the students from MSU having such OJT’s? He’s been lurking in the site lately. Lurking, you ask? Well, he’s not leaving any comment in any post or a message in the shoutbox but instead leaves them in the guestbook. And now that I’ve mentioned it, let me tell you that Ma’am Nonie Dagondon dropped by here. It seems accidental, and I wonder how. Read her message yourselves.

A news that Armando’s father was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) because of high blood reached me. Let’s hope for a good health for him. Health is wealth, guys. Always plant that in your alimpatakans.

Walking the Streets of Manila

Whew, I’ve been waiting to make this post. Last September 1-8 I was in Manila (just like last year) to attend an IT congress called Y4iT. Rubi (Candy) met me at SM North Edsa and from there she accompanied us to the boarding house she negotiated with for our lodging. At around 11:00, the two of us had to go out to fetch one of my companions. We waited at McDonald’s in PHILCOA where she forcefully made me buy her something.

On day 3 Joey brought me to Makati where we met Kenneth and walked the expensive hallways of Glorieta and Greenbelt. Joey really pushed me to look at the things which I will never be able to buy. In other words, mga butang nga dili daw nako mapalit! Gamay ra jud ang ga-shopping didto kay pang-sosyal, lahi ra jud ang blending.

Joey set the timer of his cam to 2 seconds. He had to dash for a pause but obviously failed. Haha.

For more pictures, check out Joey’s Multiply. On my last two days I had dinner with Alex (x2) and Joey, Rubi, and Kamille. They literally emptied my pocket on the last one where Suay mercilessly took even my 50 cents away!

While aboard the ship going back to Iloilo, Joey texted me that he’ll be appearing in GMA’s 24 Oras news. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to propagate the news to the others due to limited load and fluctuating signal. I saw the news. It was about him and his groupmates winning a contest back in Indonesia. It was a poster-making event where they were to inform ordinary people some deep facts about Science. The price? A whooping ~15,000 pesos.

I haven’t posted a formal site update since the new layout so for the sake of information, site was relaunched last August 7. I have already fixed all the pages but if you still find quirks please report immediately. The gallery section is still under construction. I’ve decided to completely separate it from here (but will still be accessible from here).

CDO Escapade

Guess what guys? I’m in Cagayan de Oro City right now, softly killing the time before going back to school. I went to Xavier (Ateneo de Cagayan) University and met up with Budlat, Apple, Kanding, and Abu. The first two already had classes while the other two were still on the process of enrolling. What surprised me very much was the fact that Abu will be taking only 3 units this semester — English40! Imagine that? Some of her old classmates had to name her “major in English”. Lol. We advised her of having a job — Jollibee or school student assistant wouldn’t be bad. Of course, since there was Kanding, there was also his girlfriend Rachelle. She’s a cute little girl. If we’d stand beside each other she’ll surely appear as my sungkod/tungkod. She significantly looks like Igatz (Jesha) except for the skin color. But mind you, she doesn’t seem friendly at all.

I was expecting that there’s a vessel to Iloilo tomorrow. It turns out that I still have to wait until Wednesday and will have to travel via Iligan City. So that’s it, guess I’ll be tambay for some time here.
